Spring Cleaning Tips & Tricks
Spring Cleaning Tips & Tricks
The snow is gone, or will be soon, you’re probably excited to be outside again! Then again, if you’re like most people, they wait until spring to do some spring “sprucing” around the house. Here are some ideas to simplify your home and get ready for the warmer months ahead.
Wash the exterior of your home, wipe down windows and clean out your gutters.
When the temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees, it’s time to clean off the dirt that likely accumulated over the winter months on your siding, windows and gutters (making sure they’re clear and functional for the warmer months).
Rake your lawn or aerate your lawn.
After 5 months buried in snow, your lawn needs some fresh air and raking or aerating is a great way to clean up any old leaves from the fall before and help jumpstart a healthy grass season.
Clean out your garage.
Time to retire the snowblower and get the lawn mower, bikes, and other summer equipment out and ready. Get everything aired up, gassed up and ready to go!
Clean your interior rugs.
It’s finally warm enough to clean your interior rugs and hang them up to dry outside on a clothesline and let the sun / wind do its thing!
Landscaping / fresh mulch.
Remove leaves from your garden / landscaping areas and spread out some fresh mulch to freshen up your landscaping.
Clean interior entrances.
Thoroughly wipe down and clean entry doors, flooring and walls. Maybe even freshen up the space with a fresh coat of paint if applicable!
Store winter gear away.
Box up winter gear, boots, coats, etc. and “declutter” your commonly used closets and entrances.
Dust / clean your light fixtures.
From all the “indoor time” over the winter, the dust may have collected more than normal, dust surfaces including light fixtures / lamps / etc.
The list could go on and on when it comes to spring cleaning, but we hope this short list can kick-start your spring cleaning in the right direction!
